KCLAB® started with one question:
“What if Black, Mixed and People of Colour, the creators, entrepreneurs, and
professionals had a platform built by them & for them, not around them?”
Too often in Europe, our stories are underrepresented and our businesses undervalued.
Founder Johanna saw this gap after years of working in international brand & product
marketing and living across countries. She built strategies for global brands but also saw
how Black, Mixed & POC communities were missing the same visibility and opportunities.
That’s how KCLAB® was born: a space built by us, for us.
A place where culture, creativity, business, and community meet
Hi! I’m Johanna, but please call me Jo — raised in France by my two parents from Madagascar, an intercultural, black, mixed creative soul, passionate about business & marketing, success stories, and pop culture.
Think of me as a blend of Oprah Winfrey’s kindness inviting people to share story with Olivia Pope’s activism and clairvoyance and add to this mix a good zest of Clarence Avant’s audacity lighting up every room & putting people together.
Before KCLAB®, I worked as an international marketing brand & product manager, helping big brand names grow worldwide. But my dream has always been to build something bolder, something that matters.
KCLAB® was design when I was expatriated in the UK. I realised I wanted to create & build a business for the people who believe in their talent, potential, who are willing to work, take the leap to do big, bright and bold.
The answer was a platform where Black, Mixed & POC-owned brands, entrepreneurs & creators could access the visibility and strategies they deserve.
